Born on June 3, 1865, George Frederick Ernest Albert (later King George V) was never expected to rule, standing third in line to the throne. But in 1892, fate intervened when his elder brother, Albert Victor, died suddenly of pneumonia. In 1910, his father, King Edward VII, passed, and George unexpectedly became king! Fast forward to January 20, 1936. Gravely ill and bedridden, King George V lay surrounded by his closest advisors. His physician, Lord Dawson of Penn, issued a statement: “The King’s life is moving peacefully towards its close.” At 11:55 PM, George’s death was announced to a grieving nation. Fifty years later, the doctor’s private diary revealed a shocking truth. The physician had administered lethal injections of morphine and cocaine to hasten the King’s death – so news of his passing could be announced in the morning papers rather than the “less appropriate” evening journals! Was it an act of duty or murder? The answer remains a mystery. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
