Ferdinand Waldo Demara, known as "The Great Impostor," captivated the world with his daring acts of deception. Born on December 21, 1921, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Demara was a master of reinvention. His most infamous impersonations included:

A Catholic Monk: In the 1940s, he lived as Brother John for several years before being discovered.

A Naval Surgeon: In the early 1950s, Demara posed as Dr. Joseph Cyr, a U.S. Navy surgeon, performing surgeries aboard the USS Orleans and earning a promotion to lieutenant commander before being exposed.

A Teacher and Psychologist: Demara took on roles as a teacher and psychologist, leveraging his charm and persuasive skills to succeed in these fields.

Demara’s deceptions eventually led to his exposure and arrest. After serving time in prison, he tried to lead a more conventional life and passed away on June 7, 1982.

SUMMARY: Our client, an established law firm serving the Fraser Valley, is looking for a Family Law Lawyer. The ideal candidate will join a solid team, dedicated to serving their clients efficiently while fostering a collegial work environment where everyone is accessible for guidance and advice – regardless of position. POSITION:      FAMILY LAW LAWYER INDUSTRY:     LEGAL LOCATION:    LANGLEY / CHILLIWACK

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Demonstrated success in handling complex family law cases.

·       Proven expertise managing files independently, including, separation agreements and spousal maintenance arrangements

·       Extensive experience in conducting, hearings, discovery processes, mediation sessions, and trials

·       Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

·       Highly motivated + focused with exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines with a sense of urgency and accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Minimum of 3+ years’ Family Law experience within British Columbia.

·       Comfortable instructing support staff, receiving instructions from clients, drafting pleadings, speaking to chamber applications, negotiating at mediations, appearing at trial and handling all aspects of a file from beginning to end.

·       Experience in general civil litigation is a plus.

·       Strong work ethic + interpersonal skills.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY: $100,000 – $140,000
